Level A1 (New HSK 1-2 Reference)
- The learner can understand and use pinyin and basic survival phrases in familiar contexts (e.g., greetings, shopping, directions) with visual/tone support.
- Characters: 300-450 core characters. Examples: 你，好，谢，茶，门，车
- Communication: Responds to simple questions (“你叫什么名字？”) if spoken slowly with repetition.
- Relies heavily on gestures, pictures, or written pinyin to supplement speech.
- Key Skills: Pronounces 4 tones intelligibly (even if not perfect).
- Recognizes 50-100 core characters (e.g., 人, 口, 男/女).
- Cultural Threshold: Understands non-verbal cues (e.g., nodding vs. bowing).
Level A2 (New HSK 2-3 Reference)
- The user handles routine social interactions with predictable language (e.g., ordering food, describing daily routines).
- Characters: 450-900 high-frequency characters. Examples: 买，卖，贵，便，医，院
- Communication: Exchanges simple, formulaic information (“多少钱？” “明天见！”).
- Misunderstandings are frequent but resolvable with rephrasing.
- Key Skills: Writes short messages with 200-300 characters (e.g., “今天我很忙”).
- Follows basic instructions (e.g., “左边拐弯”).
- Cultural Threshold: Grasps politeness hierarchies (e.g., using 您 vs. 你).
- Suitable for teenagers and adults.
- Basic level of English required.
- Maximum of 4 students per group.
