DESCRIPTION OF
COURSES FOR TEENAGERS
From 13 year-olds to 19+ year-olds
Minimum of 4 students in a class
More complex courses. In these courses, students must be able to understand and identify complex vocabulary, describe situations and interact fluently in a comprehensive language. Write long texts, clearly and objectively, following different writing styles.
When they start our teen English programme, they are prepared and referred, at age 15 or 16, to enter Cambridge University Exam Preparation courses.
Students are trained to:
1st Phase
INDEPENDENT USERS
Level B1, in which students:
are able to understand the essentials when the standard language used is clear, dealing with familiar aspects in contexts of: work, school, free time, etc. They are able to participate in most situations that may occur while traveling in a region where the target language is spoken. They are able to organize a simple and coherent speech about family matters, in different areas of interest. They are able to report events, experiences or a dream, express a desire or an ambition and briefly justify the reasons for a project or an idea.
Level B2, in which students:
are able to understand the essential content of concrete or abstract subjects in a complex text, including a technical discussion in their specialty. They are able to communicate with a great spontaneity that allows a conversation with a native speaker, without any tension. They are able to express themselves clearly and in detail on a wide range of issues, express an opinion on a current topic, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages on different subjects.
At this level, students have the opportunity to prepare for the B2 FIRST Exam. FIRST B2 Exam.
2nd Phase
PROFICIENT USERS
Level C1, in which students:
are able to understand a wide range of long and complex texts, as well as detect implicit meanings. They are able to express themselves spontaneously and fluently. They are able to use the language efficiently and flexibly in their social, professional or academic life. They are capable of expressing themselves on complex subjects, in a clear and well-structured way, and showing mastery of the means of organization, articulation and cohesion of the discourse.
At this level, students have the opportunity to prepare for the B2 FIRST Exam. ADVANCED C1 Exam.
Level C2, in which students:
are able to effortlessly understand virtually everything they read or hear. They are able to reconstruct facts and arguments from different sources, written and oral, summarizing them coherently. They are able to express themselves spontaneously, fluently and precisely and to distinguish small differences in meaning related to complex subjects.
At this level, students have the opportunity to prepare for the B2 FIRST Exam. Exam C2 PROFICIENCY.
